I recently came across the book I read several years ago "What do you care what others think". When I read it I would have been a little older than 20 , I chose it both for the catchy title and to learn more about this amazing scientist. The title of course on first reading seems to be less relevant to the content of the whole book but I will have to revisit it. I got the impression though that's why it was special ...
Also another great scientist Carl Sagan Edward , who uniquely commented on the most distant photograph of the earth up to that time.
From Saturn, Earth looks too small for Voyager: our planet would be a point of light, a lone pixel, barely distinguishable from Voyager's other points of light**: a pale blue dot.... " (Carl Sagan). His book of the same name: Pale Blue Dot: A Vision of the Human Future in Space (1994) was inspired by the above photograph.
Look how small is ...
From this distant point, the Earth may not be of much interest. But to us, it's different. Think again about that dot. That's here. This is home. This is us. On it, everyone you've ever loved everyone you've ever known, everyone you've ever heard of, every person who has ever existed, lived their life. The sum total of our joy and suffering, thousands of religions, ideologies and economic doctrines, every hunter and gatherer, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, every promising child, inventor and explorer, every moral teacher, every corrupt politician, every superstar, every supreme leader, every saint and sinner in the history of our species, lived there - in a tiny particle of dust suspended in a sunbeam.
Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the rivers of blood shed by all those generals and emperors so that in glory and triumph they could become momentary rulers of a fraction of a dot. Think of the endless cruelties inflicted by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the inhabitants of some other corner of it. How frequent their misunderstandings, how willing they are to kill each other, how fervent their hatred. The imaginary importance we give to ourselves, the illusion that we have some privileged place in the universe, are caused by this point of pale light. Our planet is a lonely speck in the great ambient cosmic darkness. In our darkness - in the midst of all this vastness - there is no indication that help will come from somewhere else to save us from ourselves.
Earth is the only world, so far, that is known to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, where our species can migrate.

AND finally why all this...
This post ... Why is it ... we need to tell some people ... that we don't care about their Opinion .... Should we ....?
But Eventually, those who declare something .. and repeatedly may want to believe but also want to start to fulfil the statement...
That is, similarly as in Ancient Greece stated many times the opposite to create the opinion for example they had called the Black Sea "Eyxinos"... which means hospitable. In reality, however, it is the black sea that in ancient times was considered an inhospitable sea. The sea remained the same, reality does not change, all we have obtained is the "name" and a tendency.
So we all have our stories, especially in our teenage years, it will have happened in piers to discuss something that someone has done because someone has mentioned it without it having happened because they believed it. Well yeah, and what is to be done?
Does it matter? Probably not so much if we get over it and deal with the needs...
Look how small is .....
break down our barriers and see all the opportunities we have to understand the world around us. In this way, we might be able to expand, even in the dimension of time, this small dot, in the same way, that these scientists have done by inspiring all of us./ Stay positive and happy. Work hard and don't give up hope. Be open to criticism and keep learning. Surround yourself with happy, warm and genuine people...
